Toddler Trivia Question of the Day, SP9 and more

OK, here’s your question for the day:

In Micky Mouse Clubhouse, what color was Clarabelle’s dog?

Haven’t been able to knit lately as I am trying to get my Mary Kay business underway.  (I hope you guys check out the website, even if you are far away, I can ship products to you and you can get on my preferred mailing list.)  Got another SP9 package–which was totally unexpected!  This goodie bag was filled with scrapbooking stuff, which is my other passion.  Such wonderful items, and I can’t wait to use them.  Will post picture in very near future.  Thanks, buddy, you were such an awesome first buddy to have–completely spoiled me for the next one 😉

Until tomorrow….

Toddler Trivia Answer

Chico is Handy Manny’s nephew.

Allow me to clarify a few things here–I don’t let my daughter watch all these programs every day.  At most she watches one or two episodes a day, sometimes nothing at all (like today).  I just didn’t want everyone to think she spent the whole day in front of the tv, lol.

Since we didn’t watch any TV today, I have no question for you.  Check back tomorrow to see…..

Something new and fun–Toddler Trivia

I thought I would try out something new and fun for my blog.  This is for my stay-at-home mommy friends out there with toddlers.  Every once in a while, I will post a question related to toddler morning TV, such as Sesame Street, Little Einsteins, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Bear in the Big Blue House and Jack’s Big Music Show (these are the shows I occasionally let DD watch). Just leave me a comment of your answer and let’s see who gets it right.  Since I rarely ever get a comment on my blog, I thought this could spur some on.  Good luck and the correct answer will be posted the next day.

The question of the day is:

According to Dorothy, what are Elmo’s parent’s names?

Answer to be posted tomorrow–good luck!

Secret Pal 10 Questionnaire

1. What is/are your favorite yarn/s to knit with? What fibers do you absolutely *not* like?

I love yummy soft wools and wool blends.  Not a huge acrylic or novelty fan, but I do use them as the situation dictates.  Cotton tends to be a bit hard for me to use (got arthritis in my hands–already!), but I have found some that have been springy and ok to use.

2. What do you use to store your needles/hooks in?

I have a ginormous knitting bag that I keep all my knitting gadgets in, but my needles are separated by size and just stored in ziplock bags with the sizes written on the bag.  Not fancy or handy, but I haven’t found anything I like yet.

3. How long have you been knitting & how did you learn? Would you consider your skill level to be beginner, intermediate or advanced?

I’ve been knitting and teaching knitting for a while now.  Although I would not profess to know it all, I have a good grasp on most of the techniques.  Isn’t that the great thing about knitting–you can keep learning new stuff–I love that!

4. Do you have an Amazon or other online wish list?  Yeah, but I couldn’t get it to show up for SP9, so I will leave it off of here.  I will say that it’s mostly OOP knitting books that I occassionally check the prices on and then go back to what I was doing, lol.

5. What’s your favorite scent?

Citrus for me, almond/vanilla/spice for the home

6. Do you have a sweet tooth? Favorite candy?

Umm, I’m not that bad when it comes to sweets, but I do like a good Kit Kat every once in a while…..GREAT, now I’m hungry!  LOL

7. What other crafts or Do-It-Yourself things do you like to do? Do you spin?

I scrapbook and take an obscene amount of pictures of my daughter.  I don’t spin and I’m not really wanting to even try.  I am currently in my MOMS Club reading group and I am enjoying that immensely.

8. What kind of music do you like? Can your computer/stereo play MP3s? (if your buddy wants to make you a CD)

I like almost any kind of music except country.  I think my computer will play MP3’s–I do have an IPOD

9. What’s your favorite color(s)? Any colors you just can’t stand?

There’s not many colors that I don’t care for, I like almost everything.  Black isn’t the greatest color for me, but I do use it on occassion to accent other colors.  Colors with a yellow tone to them, do not look good on me–I look ill!

10. What is your family situation? Do you have any pets?

I live with my husband of 4 1/2 years and our amazing daughter who is almost 22 months.  No pets since the loss of my beloved dog 1 1/2 years ago.

11. Do you wear scarves, hats, mittens or ponchos?

Yup, but non-itchy fibers, please

12. What is/are your favorite item/s to knit?

I love to knit a lot of things, but I don’t find myself knitting for our home too much.  I find I enjoy felting the most, probably because I actually attempt to design the things that I felt and know that the washing machine will felt away a multitude of sins…..

13. What are you knitting right now?

I started in on a KAL last September/October?  I’m pretty sure almost everyone else is finished now.  I’m still slowly working my way up the back of my Braids cardigan.  I honestly don’t get that much time to knit right now with a little one running around, but someday, I will have too much time to knit, so it will balance out….I hope

14. Do you like to receive handmade gifts?

Who doesn’t?  Oh wait, I remember who……seriously, I like them!

15. Do you prefer straight or circular needles? Bamboo, aluminum, plastic?

I’m a die-hard Addi turbo fan, but I gotta tell you, I’m liking the KnitPicks needles….

16. Do you own a yarn winder and/or swift?

yup, couldn’t live without them

17. How old is your oldest UFO?

Please don’t go there, too long (sigh, hanging my head in shame)

18. What is your favorite holiday?

I love all holidays in which my family gets together–so that’s the big ones, Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas

19. Is there anything that you collect?

Dust around my house, ha ha ha, boy I’m in a silly mood tonight.  Seriously, I don’t really collect anything atm.

20. Any books, yarns, needles or patterns out there you are dying to get your hands on? What knitting magazine subscriptions do you have?

I subscribe to all the major US mags out there, I have a ton of books and too many needles.  I am considering getting the KnitPicks options needle set, though….

21. Are there any new techniques you’d like to learn?

I know *how* to do intarsia, but not well….design intricate sweaters and adapt other patterns to suite my needs

22. Are you a sock knitter? What are your foot measurements?

Nope, sorry, don’t care to knit socks that much–I have all the sock yarn I want right now.  I wear a 7.5 wide shoe, though and I love nice warm socks

23. When is your birthday?

December 5th

It’s all about pink and piggie!

Well, if you have been following my blog over the past few months, you will already know that my family has been hit hard with personal tragedies and setbacks, scary moments and aggravations.  The list just seems to keep growing (I will now take a minute to add that my BIL had an infection in his surgical site and set him back to square one physical therapy-wise–he was just about to walk without crutches for the first time since November, and last weekend I spent about 5 hours at a local hospital ER with his wife, who suddenly developed vertigo so badly, she couldn’t lift her head up without vomiting–such fun!  NOT!  My MIL is also going for her knee surgery later this month) can we pile anything else on here while we’re at it?  I think not.  My husband’s family sort of follows the chinese zodiac calendar and this past year has been the year of the dog–apparently quite confrontational with dragons, most of which my family happens to be.  In one week we will be in the year of the pig, we are all just holding on until that happens and hope our luck will improve.  Pigs sound cute and not a lot of trouble–I sure hope so for our sakes.

In happier news, my sister got engaged last week.  My parents and the newly engaged couple are coming over tomorrow for a little celebration.  DD is set to be a flower girl next May–hope she’s up for the task, I don’t see why not.  Supposedly I will be the matron of honor (I hate that word–I don’t want to be matron of anything!  lol) and DH will be a groomsman.  It will be quite a family affair, I suppose.

Also in the news, I joined Mary Kay.  I am now a pink lady–hey I like the color anyway, lol.  I look forward to working at it and if it keeps me home with DD, then it will all be worth it.  Please check me out on my own personal webpage (it’s all very exciting!)  www.marykay.com/kyue   I’m just in the process of starting everything up, but it seems quick and simple to do and I look forward to something that will be a challenge.  Wish me luck!

I also signed up for SP10–sounds like fun, and now I know a few things I can add into my packages this time….

SP9 Package pictures (finally!)

I wanted to finally post my pictures of packages from my SP9 spoiler–she’s been most patient with me waiting for my computer to finally get fixed.  Here is my first package:

And here is my second package:

I would have been perfectly happy with those two packages, but even admidst moving to another state and starting a new job, my spoiler has let me know there’s something else on the way!  What a great buddy–I totally hope she gets best buddy.  Good luck!
