It\’s my world, join me, won\’t you?

A little bit about knitting, a little bit about my family and anything else I feel like writing about :-)

Another blogger joining in the chemo cap challenge/contest

Through Ravelry, I have met some wonderful amazing people who are taking up needles all over the country and making caps to donate for the chemo cap challenge/contest.  If you visit this blog:

You will see that she has also added a prize for anyone who has donated chemo caps.  You have to comment on her blog as well, so be sure to comment here and there to increase your chances of winning!

Please make sure that when you comment, you leave the name and location of the hospital you donate to and that there is a way for me to contact you if you win a prize.

Keep on knitting for good!

My poor car!!

highlandercrashed, originally uploaded by kdw12570.

Hubby got back from the salvage yard where my poor Highlander was dragged to after it was released from the impound yard (car jail!). It is amazing that we weren’t injured more severely.

On a happier note, we just purchased a new Honda Pilot in a nice deep cherry red to replace it. May she move through the streets and highways of NJ without any mishaps!

Woohoo! I’m on at Ravelry

Hello all!  I’m so excited I finally got my ravelry invite.  I can see how this is going to be a time consuming project, but in the end, I will feel so completely organized, I hope, it will be worth it.  My ravelry id is kdy12570–stop by and say hi.  If you don’t see me around here lately, I’m sure that’s where you can find me.  I am also under the gun to squeeze in all sorts of warm weather activities before it gets cold around here, so time is not on my side.  Please check back in a week or so and I should have some more posts.  Off to Ravelry.

Fundraising for a Great Cause!!

I know I don’t normally talk about my business on this blog, but I wanted to take the opportunity to let you all know about a fundraiser I am doing for the holiday gift giving season ahead.  From now until Sunday November 18th, for any orders placed via my website using event code 276577 , 25% of the total will be given as a donation to our local children’s library.  Just visit my website at  , place an order and enter the event code in the appopriate box during the checkout procedure and I will credit the fundraiser 25% of the total amount of your order.  No credit card information is required on the website, I can contact you for all that information.  If you have read my posts in the past, you have heard me gush and fuss over how much this tiny little library does for the kids in our town and how much I appreciate all the work that our children’s librarian does for us.  This is my small way of giving back.  So, if you’ve the inclination, browse my online store or drop me a comment or email and I would be happy to help you pick out gifts for your family or treat for yourself.  Thanks!

Wow, over 3,000 hits on my blog

It’s been a little over a year and I already have over 3,000 hits on my blog–that just boggles my mind, lol.  And I am sure that joining the secret pals and the virtual vacation swap have really added to the traffic, but still, incredible.  Thanks guys–feel free to leave me a comment–I’d love to hear from you!

Joined WW last week–lost 4.2 pounds in the first week and I am totally impressed with myself.  I am most inspired by my SP9 buddy who joined last year and this past weekend participated in a 30 mile bike marathon for MS–you go girl–totally my hero!  If I can keep this up, I will be most happy, but I know it will slow down eventually.  I’m happy with right now, though.

Can’t wait for Saturday when the new Harry Potter book comes out.  I will probably be laying low until I finish it, and won’t post the ending here for all those who are reading, too.  Gotta go now and get some stuff done while DD naps–later!
